Brecia’s love affair with basketry began over 50 years ago when she made her first basket. Since then she has joyfully explored many different basketry techniques and is still fascinated by baskets of all sorts. Working with plant materials to create a vessel is like a collaboration and Brecia has so much fun with the process. As a teacher her mantra is “Play. Explore. Discover”. For the past 30 years, she has been a professional artist working in fiber and absolutely loves to share her enthusiasm and creative joy with her students.
“Creativity is an expression of our true self and our creative work is essential for creating connection, community and wholeness.”
